About this book

The second book of Isaac Asimov's Foundation series is made up of two stories, "The General" and "The Mule", and in each an outsider attempts to conquer the Foundation, the colony set up to shorten the dark age that follows the fall of the Galactic Empire.

The second, the Mule, is a unique individual who can manipulate the emotions of people and entire worlds, and he disrupts the Seldon Plan, the centuries-long course of events predicted by psychohistory. His rise questions the plan itself.
