In Ascension

Leigh grows up in Rotterdam, drawn to the water to escape a violent father, and becomes a marine biologist. When a trench is discovered in the Atlantic, she joins the expedition hoping to find the earth's first life, and what she finds leads her to a new space agency in the Mojave. To follow it she may have to leave her family behind. A literary novel about origins and about the cost of curiosity.
