Caine Riordan has just helped to repel an alien invasion of Earth when the Slaasriithi, mysterious and possibly helpful, ask him to lead a diplomatic mission to their worlds. A group of renegade aliens follows, hoping to kill him and end the alliance. A military space opera, and a Nebula finalist.
