About this book
In 1998 an ecological catastrophe is poisoning the oceans and the atmosphere. A group of scientists in Cambridge try to send a message back in time using tachyons, particles that travel faster than light, hoping to warn the past in time to prevent it.
In 1963, at La Jolla in California, physicist Gordon Bernstein finds that his experiments are being disturbed by a signal that seems to be coming from the future. The novel moves between the two decades. A Nebula Award-winning story of how scientists work and of what a warning could change.
